EOI FOR AD-HOC PERSONNEL ,SMC ICT4D KANO&GOMBE STATES June 4, 2021 NMEP Publications 0 Comments ICT4D EOI ADVERT FOR AD-HOC STAFF,KANO&GOMBE Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) is amongst the drug-based preventive interventions adopted in Nigeria for children between 3-59 months in Sahel parts of the country. Eligible children receive intermittent full therapeutic courses of antimalarial (Sulphadoxine Pyrimethamine plus Amodiaquine [SPAQ]) over four months during the peak period of malaria transmission. The stratification of malaria interventions exercise carried out by the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) with the support of World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019 indicates increased geographical areas for SMC implementation in Nigeria. A total of 21 states now qualify for SMC as against 9 states that qualified before.
