END OF ROUND COVERAGE SURVEY CONSULTANT_2022 October 13, 2022 NMEP Post in Publications RECRUITMENT OF END OF ROUND COVERAGE SURVEY CONSULTANT_2022 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) is the administration of four monthly courses of sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine (SP) and amodiaquine (AQ), or SPAQ, to children between 3 and 59 months during the rainy season in the Sahel sub-region where malaria transmission is highly seasonal and the majority of clinical malaria cases (>60%) occur during a short period of 3-4 months (WHO, 2012). The objective of SMC is to maintain therapeutic antimalarial drug concentrations in the blood throughout the period of greatest risk.
